The story behind Vetdesk
Like many pet owners, Vetdesk’s founders Alessandro Benintende and Dwayne Williams understand the joys — and challenges — of caring for pets.
They often encountered similar frustrations: keeping track of vaccination reminders, running out of pet food, and struggling to find trusted pet care information online.
On top of that, they spent hours on the phone trying to book appointments, a process that was time-consuming and often inconvenient. Their busy workdays left little time to handle these tasks, making those vet calls all too easy to forget.
Time and time again, they found themselves thinking, “There has to be a better way to save time and make this easier!”
In 2021, inspired by their own frustrations, Ale and Dwayne began brainstorming a solution. What started as an idea quickly grew into a shared mission: to simplify pet care for clients while making life easier for clinics. After a year of prototyping, followed by two more years talking with clinics of all sizes—from small independents to larger groups—they officially launched Vetdesk.
With over 40+ years of combined experience in designing and developing apps, websites, and customer engagement tools, Ale and Dwayne leveraged their expertise from their software agency, Nero Motion, to build Vetdesk. Their vision? To create an app that’s intuitive, reliable, and genuinely helpful for both clinics and pet owners.
